Portugal remains inside colective Spanish soul. A joke from Spanish National Congress ex-Vicepresident, and "Spanish Constitution Father", Mr. Peces Barba has caused controversy inside Catalonia Region -Spain-.
Peces Barba pronunced his words during the "X Practice Law National Summit", in Cadiz. Ex-Vicepresident was talking about dangers from liberaton movements inside Spain, when he remembered the fact of Portugal Indepedence from Spanish Kingdom in 1640, in fact Duke of Olivares took decission of choosing the independence of Portugal before the Catalonia`s.
"I always explain in joke, what would be the history if we had taken the opposite decission: to defend Portugal, not Catalonia...Maybe it would be better for us".
These words provocated inmediately the leaving of thirty catalonian lawyers fron the Spanish Summit, and a lot of hot and angry declarations, the majority from catalonian representants.
The huge flow of declarations to the press forced Mr. Peces Barba to develop a brief explanation: "It was only a joke, and I think the matter is sorted out", but the head of department also expressed the point of view that catalonian people would to make a check themselves: ""You would not be so touchy..." and "the only difference between me and Catalonian people is that I am a Real Madrid supporter".

Repowering works in Bemposta Dam, Douro river. The yelow colour is due to hidraulic isolatings. The Dam is located between Mogadouro and Fermoselle towns.
